Pouring your beer wrong (or drinking it from a can or bottle) not only has a negative effect on your stomach, but also for it's taste.
That's right. Pouring your beer slowly with a tilted glass to avoid foaming is not good for your health (as strange as this sounds when talking about alcohol). It does not allow for the beer to release enough CO2 from the liquid, which in turn, makes you feel bloated.
This is why you feel like you've just ate a dinner for 2 after a beer.
Also, actually foaming the beer is what transcends all of the aromas from the hops and spices. The scents are carried through the CO2, which is why when your beer foams, the smell of the beer is released. This is why you can only really smell the beer once you drink it from a well-poured glass.
But don't take my word for it.
Let a beer sommelier guide you through the notion of beer pouring.
