MiniBrew Shipment

When is my MiniBrew ready to brew?

Hi MiniBrew Fans,

We are well aware that each of you is very anxious to get your MiniBrew shipped and ready to brew.

Therefore, we’ve created a timeline so that you can visualize what steps are remaining before your machine arrives at your door. It will take us several months to prepare the production line to have the ability to produce 1.000 machines per batch.

Thus, Bart will spend the next month at the factory in China to work through the Off Tool Build (OTB). This is the first step out of four before starting the Mass Production and ultimately, the delivery of your machines.

Below you can find an overview followed by a detailed explanation of those steps:

  • OTB - Off-Tool Build
  • EB1 - Engineering Build 1
  • EB2 - Engineering Build 2
  • PP - Pilot Production

---> Mass Production & Shipment of the MiniBrews

The steps until Mass Production in detail

OTB - Off-Tool Build. After finishing the tooling process (the production of the molds) we must ensure that it is ready for mass production. Therefore, we will carry out our first production tests with the molds made in the tooling phase, which will then be followed by two more scheduled tests to ensure the highest quality of our products. This is a standard process every hardware product goes through.

EB1 - Engineering Build 1. This includes an additional updated version of the produced MiniBrews in the Off-Tool Build. This step is a standard procedure to ensure a perfect fitting and working hardware product. In addition, EB1 is the stage where the product is ready for certification of different authorities.

EB2 - Engineering Build 2 is the process which focuses on optimizing the assembly line.

PP - Pilot Production. Before mass production, the final validation phase is a pilot production run, in which we will produce machines that are certified and ready for delivery to some of YOU, our early backers! This means that you will receive your MiniBrew before everyone else has access to it. Since we do not know the exact development progress, we cannot make a detailed delivery estimate as of yet. Therefore, there might be a chance that some backers will receive their machines early. However, this is not confirmed yet, so please be patient before making your conclusions.

Without further ado, here is the full updated timeline:

Above, the updated Roadmap of MiniBrew's development plans.

In a nutshell, we want to ensure the best quality possible in terms of hardware and software. This is why we will first produce around 500 MiniBrews before going into mass production.

We know the hardware production process is quite difficult to understand. So if you have some questions and doubts about the individual schedule, we would love to take the time to walk you through the process in more detail, just drop us an email at patrick@minibrew.io.

We are more than happy to answer all of your questions and explain every step in detail.

Thanks again for backing us and understanding about the difficulties encountered in creating such a complex hardware product.
