Father & Son Blonde Ale MiniBrew

6 months ago, MiniBrew launched the "Who's Your Daddy" contest where we invited participants to share the story of their father and why they would like to brew a beer with them in Amsterdam. We finally have a winner, and here is the outcome of their trip. Watch the video if you are interested in what you could win for our next contest.

On the 13th of July, Vitor sent his story to our email and we decided to shortlist him from all of the other participants as, we believe, he had an original story and held great respect for his father. Below, you can find an excerpt from his first reasonning for participating:

I want to do that because my dad has the biggest beer collection I have ever seen. And, for a man who has so much different labels, I believe drinking a beer he made with his own hands will be a transcending experience.

- Vitor Cunha

Now, Vitor had just passed his first test. And the real competition was about to really begin:

We shortlisted 14 contestants and asked them to make a video of themselves explaining why they would like to brew a beer on the MiniBrew with that great guy called dad. Then, we would share this video on our Facebook page and the video with the most likes would be the one that wins the trip to Amsterdam.

Seems pretty easy and straightforward, right?

However, the race of the likes became so fierce, that even our team at MiniBrew could not believe our own eyes. Some participants generated as many as 20,000 reactions and a reach of more than 200,000 people!

However, Vitor was able to get through this through his networking and brilliance and ended up winning a trip to Amsterdam! During his trip, he was able to go visit Belgium, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Utrecht.

At our offices, we showed Vitor and his dad Paulo around and let them brew their own beer. Then, we arranged some delicious beers paired with some tasty cheeses (which you can recreate from the video) and finally took them on a tour of the best breweries in Amsterdam.

Nevertheless, here is the after movie below.

Enjoy!
